About Our Role

* Base hourly rates from $40.24 (incl. 25% casual loading + 15% afternoon shift allowance + 30% night shift allowance + OT where applicable)
Multiple opportunities exist for casual Production Operators at Simplot Bathurst in support of manufacturing operations at our newly redeveloped food manufacturing facility.
Simplot Bathurst employs over 250 people and having been a part of the local community since 1926, continues to produce Edgell products, as well as products for Birds Eye and Chiko. An investment of $90 million has recently been completed at the site, transforming Simplot Bathurst into a frozen vegetable centre of excellence, enabling increased production capacity, and ultimately helping to boost local and export volumes.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Production Manager and working within an active, hands-on food manufacturing environment - the Production Operator will support the processing of both vegetable & snack lines (incl. broccoli, cauliflower, corn, Chiko etc) - duties may include;
* Inspection, grading & preparation of incoming raw material
* Manual handling of ingredients used in the production process
* Deep cleaning of food production equipment
* Safe operations of fixed plant processing & high speed packaging equipment
* Accurate completion of daily shift logs / associated paperwork
* Counterbalance forklift operations (for LF licenced fork candidates)
* Participation in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
* Contributions to site safety & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) activities
About You
* Possess a 100% commitment to safety, health & wellbeing in the workplace
* Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing or process related role would be highly regarded
* Hold a problem solving mindset
* Ability to commit to 8 hour shifts (day/night/afternoon) across a 7 day Mon-Sun roster
* Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures would be advantageous
* Possess a strong level of both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills (the ability to work to production schedules)
* Ability to work proactively with initiative
* A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience (advantageous)
* Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening
