ENGINEERING MANAGER Our Client: Our client based in Melbourne has a solid global and national footprint within the supply and manufacturing of agricultural and industrial chemical products, priding themselves on producing high-quality products and fostering a supportive, innovative work environment. Opportunity: Opportunity exists for a highly organised Engineering Manager to ensure that all sites are well maintained and operating safely and efficiently, and day to day engineering improvements are identified, reviewed, and undertaken in a cost effective and timely manner. Experience: Site maintenance (preventative and breakdown), calibration, repair, organising and contracting sub-contractors, "trouble shooting" and administration requirements to ensure the safe and reliable operation of all processes and equipment Experience managing pest management program Managing equipment inspections, calibrations, and site surveys to ensure safe and efficient performance Planning and design of the production plant and site and recommendation changes to improve safety and efficiency Experience with engineering standards of safety, quality, cost, timeliness, and performance are maintained Manage and supervise the training, appraising and co-ordination of work of direct reports Experience managing site inductions, supervision, and co-ordinating sub-contractors Experience managing employees, company policies, procedures, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and legislation Management of maintenance database and schedules Experience reviewing operating standards procedures relating to engineering and site maintenance Developing standards, procedures and methods for the safe installation, modification, testing, inspection, and maintenance of equipment Developing standards and specifications for materials, equipment, material/process flows, capacities and layout of plant or systems including the update of the Process and Instrumentation drawings Identify and propose capital expenditure projects including preparation of Opportunity Evaluation forms and key project stage plan Project management of approved capex projects to completion including design, costing, organising, and contracting sub-contractors, undertaking Risk Assessments, supervision and training of staff and contractors, installation, commissioning and updating drawings Negotiating contracts and specifications for construction and acquisition of plant and equipment to achieve timely and cost-effective outcomes Testing newly installed equipment and revised processes to ensure compliance with safety systems, performance requirements and agreed specifications Co-ordinating repairs and maintenance and project work around production schedules Training staff of processes and equipment use Working with company goals and KPI's Preferred Experience / Education: Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering and / or at least 10 years relevant experience Working knowledge of production maintenance and its supervision Understanding of chemical processes and their safe application to manufacturing activities Knowledge of Oleo chemistry and the techniques of Quality Control (not a must but advantageous to have) Team player, attention to detail, strong organisational skills, goal focussed What We Offer in Return: A permanent position that supports an Australian organization with a global presence Excellent working conditions Work with a high performing team supported across Australia Melbourne based – some travel may be required Promoter of work life balance Rewarding package – salary packaging Our client is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, proudly recruiting and hiring diverse workforce and committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
