Peninsula Positive Paws Dog Club is a not-for-profit organisation, run entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers (Instructors & Committee) providing positive reinforcement training for dog owners on the Mornington Peninsula.
Peninsula Positive Paws Dog Club will hold its 4th Annual General Meeting on Sunday 18th August at 11am.
All committee roles will be declared vacant and as such we are seeking expressions of interest for these voluntary roles:
President: The principal office bearer for the club and has overall responsibility for the integrity of the Committee’s processes. The President supports the committee to prioritize the club’s plan and goals (consistent with the views of the members) and keeps the committee on track by working within that overall framework. The major function of the President is to chair and facilitate effective committee meetings. The specific responsibilities for the President are outlined in the position description.
Secretary: Responsible for ensuring committee meetings are organised and held, membership applications are processed, the membership register is kept, and key documents and records of the association are maintained. The specific responsibilities for the Secretary are outlined in the position description.
Treasurer: Responsible for overseeing the club’s financial management, the maintenance of all records pertaining to the club’s financial affairs; and ensuring that the financial processes of the organisation conform to best practice. The specific responsibilities of the Treasurer are outlined in the position description.
Ordinary Committee Members: Responsible for overseeing the affairs of Peninsula Positive Paws Dog Club, ensuring its legal obligations are met and that the organisation is soundly managed for the benefit of all, including its members. All Committee members are required to carry out their duties in a lawful manner and ensure that the business of the organisation is carried out in accordance with the law and under the terms of the organisation’s Rules of Incorporation and Policies. All Committee members are required to support the vision, purposes and values of the club and ensure the governance and management of the club reflects them.
Required:
Previous relevant experience (previous not-for-profit committee member experience ideal, but not compulsory)
Working with children’s check
Police check
12 month term commitment in role
Small time commitment of 4-6 hours per month, including monthly committee meetings held online on the first Wednesday evening of each month.
