Government - State (Government & Defence) The Department for Child Protection (DCP) plays a key role in the protection of children, young people and their families within South Australia. The department provides support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong and connected. Your new role The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Strategic Contracts Officer to join the Procurement and Contracting team on a full-time ongoing basis. Key responsibilities will include: Initiating, planning and delivering significant strategic contract procurement programs, projects and services. Providing strategic leadership and expertise for the development, implementation and review of DCP's procurement and contracts. Managing the identification and implementation of strategies and initiatives to support the creation of strategic value-for-money opportunities. Adding value by providing expert consultation to senior management and key stakeholders regarding complex contracting and procurement issues, policies and systems. What you'll need to succeed Experience in managing complex and strategic procurements, with a passion for learning in an agile environment. Strong ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with sensitivity and diplomacy at all levels. Keen analysis and research skills to allow the implementation of practical solutions for critical issues. A high level of written communication. Please note: successful applications will be required to undergo a Working with Children Check.
