This position sits within the Maitland Hospital Social Work Team, comprising of critical and acute care, ICU, Maternity Services & Paediatrics. The successful applicant will be joining a dynamic team of dedicated Social Workers with a passion for positive patient outcomes within the Health Systems. The position will work across various teams and departments within Lower Hunter Sector.About the role:The successful applicant will provide consultation, leadership, and case management in the area of Child Protection across the various sites. Support staff to identify and respond to patients and families where Child Protection concerns are identified. Provide education, in-services, and the promotion of Child Protection related events within the Maitland/Kurri & Cessnock Health sites.About you:We are seeking a person who is highly motivated, able to work independently within complex Child Protection matters and within a team. A person with specific knowledge and experience in the area of Child Protection, policies, procedures, and legislation. Someone with an established network within the Child Protection area, who can utilize those networks to improve and maintain the working relationships between Health and the Department of Communities and Justice.
