About the team It’s an integral part of our Ampol supply chain, meeting the needs of a diverse set of customers. We distribute fuels and lubricants products from a network of Terminals and Depots across QLD, NSW and WA, operate up to 100 tanker trucks and employ over 170 dedicated employees. About the role: Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, a newly created role for an experienced Fleet Manager to lead and manage our Sydney Heavy Vehicle fleet. You will be accountable for overseeing all heavy vehicles, drivers and related assets including their operation, maintenance and ensuring compliance requirements are met. In addition, ensuring that the Fleet operates profitably and efficient while meeting the expectations of our customers. Key responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Ampol petroleum tanker truck fleet operations Lead, coach and develop a large team of tanker drivers and coordinators. Responsible for the financial and statuary performance of the Fleet Oversee the scheduling of bulk tanker and onsite refuelling operations to meet customer expectations Drive and manage strong customer relationships across all levels of the operation. Partner effectively with key stakeholders and leadership to deliver business plans. Responsible for safe work practices and ensure Ampol is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations About you You are a natural leader with a proven capability to simultaneously balance operational and commercial outcomes. You are a versatile, self-motivated and disciplined in your approach. Your diverse communications skills combined with your understanding of complex operational environments enable you to thrive in this position and achieve positive business excellence and outcomes. You thrive in problem solving and having a high commitment to safety, compliance and efficient focus and understand the important of these factors in operating a quality business. Key skills and experience: Previous experience in heavy vehicle fleet management is essential. People leadership, and well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in Petroleum, Chemicals, Dangerous Goods or Hazardous industries is desirable. Accountabilities for operational budgets and financial performance. Deliver customer service and customer satisfaction. Practical working knowledge of heavy vehicle transport operations or logistics. Tertiary qualification in Business, Logistics and/or Marketing is desirable Our benefits: Our total remuneration is competitive.
