Position Summary:
The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing a safe, educational, and nurturing environment for children typically from infancy through preschool age. The Educator will be actively involved in the daily supervision and care of children, including educational and recreational activities tailored to their developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Active Supervision: Maintain constant supervision of children to ensure safety and well-being at all times. Engage with children in activities that encourage learning and development.
2. Care Duties: Perform routine care tasks such as nappy changing and assisting with toilet training, ensuring high standards of hygiene and care are maintained.
3. Record Keeping: Accurately record and update daily data concerning children’s activities, including sleep times, food intake, and developmental milestones.
4. Activity Planning: Design and implement daily activities that are educational and age-appropriate, fostering the physical, emotional, and intellectual development of children.
5. Observation and Reporting: Regularly observe children’s behavior and learning, using findings to adjust activities and routines as needed. Prepare reports on individual progress and any concerns to discuss with parents and academy management.
6. Mealtime Management: Assist in the preparation for and cleaning up after meal times, ensuring a clean and organized eating area.
Requirements:
1. Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
3. A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in a childcare setting.
4. Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
5. A valid Working with Children Check.
6. Strong understanding of child development and early years learning frameworks.
7. Excellent observational and communication skills.
8. Strong planning and organizational abilities.
9. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
10. Passionate about working with children and committed to providing high-quality, educational, and playful experiences.
