About the Company I'm representing a well financed renewable energy developer in their search for a Head of BESS. About the Role The initial focus will be on assisting with the development of existing BESS projects, however there will be future opportunities to initiate new projects. It's a senior role responsible for driving late-stage development activities and ensuring progression through financial close. Responsibilities Lead the development of utility-scale BESS projects from late-stage development through to financial close and execution Oversee technical, commercial and regulatory aspects of BESS project development Work closely with internal teams, including grid connection, engineering, finance, and legal, to de-risk projects and maximize value Engage with external stakeholders such as network service providers (NSPs), regulators, investors, and OEMs to secure project approvals and optimize commercial structures Negotiate key project agreements, including EPC, O&M, connection agreements, and PPAs.
