Position Summary
This position performs project controls functions related to cost with a primary focus on supporting the provision of timely change and cost information for the Renewable Fuels Project.
This position falls within the Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT). The position reports to the IPMT Project Cost Control Lead.
Principle Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist the Project Controls Lead in accumulating and compiling accurate costs management data to prepare the project budget and report costs.
2. Champion the change management process across multiple contractor workfaces, ensuring that cost and schedule impacts and trends are flagged early, clearly understood and reported.
3. Support the development of the Execute Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures.
4. Ensure that project cost data is correctly captured under the WBS and Project Controls systems in a consistent manner.
5. Assist the Project Controls Lead in producing required Project Cost control reports and support cost management processes, including forecasting, variance analysis and reporting where required.
6. Assist and participate in internal audits external audits.
7. Analyse and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
8. Provide coverage for the Project Controls Lead when they are on leave.
9. Role is Perth office based but may need to travel to the Kwinana Project Site to attend meetings and business related matters.
10. Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications and – Related Education, Experience and Skills
12. Engineering Degree, Technical qualification, Business or Project Management Degree.
13. Proficiency in the use of project cost management systems.
14. Understand the fundamentals of engineering models and construction drawings.
15. Understand fundamental concepts of Estimating.
16. Have a change management mindset.
17. Proficiency in the use of project cost management systems.
18. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs including but not limited to Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Sharepoint.
19. Advance Microsoft Excel skills.
20. Great communication skills.
21. Bias for simplification and efficiency with focus on fit-for-purpose deliverables that meet the needs of the business.
22. Ability to work across numerous tasks and maintain a high standard.
23. 5 to 10 year’s experience in Project Controls/ Cost Engineering / Cost Control on large scale projects.
24. An understanding of the engineering and construction in the Oil and gas sectors would be advantageous.
