The Role As we scale our engineering team from ~12 to ~20 before the end of the year, we're seeking a new Head of Engineering to guide our teams in delivering robust, innovative products at pace. This role will be critical for attracting, enabling and retaining the top engineering talent that is responsible for delivering on our mission of creating a seamless and transparent financing experience through technology. Responsibilities Project Delivery: Plan and execute key initiatives across teams, adequately trading off quality and scalability with time to delivery. Team Leadership: Retain and grow top engineering talent; fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning. Efficiency & Process: Define metrics to measure engineering effectiveness; continuously refine workflows to increase velocity; roll-out new tooling to maximise output. Technical Ownership: Own and evolve the technical roadmap and stack, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, scalable and contemporary. Hiring & Growth: Drive a robust recruitment process to expand teams quickly, while maintaining strict talent standards. Vendor Management: Evaluate, negotiate, and manage key technology vendor relationships aligned with business goals. Requirements Experience: leading teams, particularly in fast-growing tech environments. Technical Depth: Ability to make strategic architectural decisions, backed by strong reasoning and data. Leadership & Culture: Proven track record in developing career paths, managing performance, and nurturing talent. Delivery Focus: Demonstrated success delivering complex projects on time.
