Tamarin Indian Restaurant, a well-established dining destination in Bathurst, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef specializing in Indian cuisine to join our team. If you have a passion for authentic Indian flavours and are committed to culinary excellence, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, cook, and present authentic Indian dishes, ensuring quality and flavour are top priorities.
2. Design and develop innovative menu items that highlight traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine.
3. Supervise kitchen operations, managing food preparation, ingredients, and portion control.
4. Oversee food inventory and supply ordering to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
5. Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety protocols.
6. Train and supervise junior staff, ensuring they adhere to the restaurant’s standards.
7. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure timely and smooth service delivery.
8. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
Requirements:
1. At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, specializing in Indian cuisine.
2. Relevant qualifications in cookery, with a minimum of Diploma Qualification or a highly relevant field.
3. Extensive knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking methods.
4. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
6. Excellent understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
