The Opportunity: Reporting to the Branch Manager, the purpose of the Leading Hand – Workshop, is to support the co-ordination and supervision of all service activities in line with Komatsu standards, policies & procedures. This includes co-ordination of Technicians, Parts, Contractors & all other relevant parties involved in each job. Must be able to communicate effectively with both customers & company personnel.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and assist supervising workshop staff on repairs of equipment and components in accordance with manufacturers' standards within the laid down time frame.Issue appropriate documents and work instructions to workshop technicians and apprentices to ensure there is a complete understanding of work requirements and labour times on each job or task.Maximise own and team labour output through job control and communication with workshop staff.At all times, apply safe working practices, including a high standard of housekeeping.Ensure employees and sub-contractors adhere to the Company's HSE requirements.Assist Workshop Supervisor with job estimations and planning, including job progress.Assist in efforts to control and or reduce costs by monitoring consumable spend, subcontract costs and labour hours booked to jobs.Assist the Branch Manager with performance reviews of team members by providing feedback on performance.Ensure that at all times your actions are such that promotes the name of Komatsu Australia in a positive manner and by due process leads to the long-term profitability of the Company.Provide technical support and product information to staff and customers when required in a professional and efficient manner.Liaise with customers and staff in a courteous manner using the Customer Support Charter as the guiding principles of all interactions.Oversee on the job training of trades persons and apprentices and identify and consult with the Workshop Supervisor of areas of improvement and training requirements.Komatsu BenefitsFamilies Policy: 16 weeks of paid primary carer parental leave, 4 weeks of secondary carer leave, plus many more family friendly benefits.Financial: Company funded Income Protection Insurance.Career: Recognition, awards, flexibility, further education studies and internal career development.Health: Corporate discount with Bupa, Total Wellbeing Solution with Telus Health.Travel: Discounts with Avis, Qantas, Crown, IHG and travel agents.Referral Program: $3000 referral payment for referring a successful new employee to Komatsu.What We Are Looking ForPrevious leading hand experience.Ability to schedule and delegate to a team or individual.Strong communication skills and key team player.Professional self-starter, with attention to detail.Working knowledge of Quality Assurance and active in promoting its principles.Ability to lead and mentor a team.Basic to intermediate computer knowledge/skills.QualificationsCertified Tradesperson.Forklift Certification.Working at Heights Certification.First Aid Certification (desired).Ready to get started?
