About the role
QT Canberra is seeking a handful of casual superstar chefs to join our kitchen team, working across our signature restaurantCapitol Bar & Grillas well as our Conferencing & Events kitchens. This is an opportunity to work in an expansive and well-equipped kitchen, focused around our wood fired grill.
Key Responsibilities.
* Ensure that QT Canberra produces a high-quality food product at all times.
Demonstrate superior recipe knowledge for every item on the menu. Monitor food quality and quantity as it relates to portion control. Monitor all food storage facilities to ensure that proper storage techniques are being used and that the cleanliness standards are being maintained. Prepare and properly garnish all pantry items including salads, sandwiches, desserts, as well as the established menu and specialty items. Requisition the appropriate amount of food product in accordance with the established policies and procedures. Ensure that all standard recipes are followed in all outlets. Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members of the service team. Comply with all of the established operational policies & procedures. Maintain a clean & safe working environment. Have a full knowledge of, and practice all of the established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S). Perform any other duties as directed by the Executive Chef.

Skills & experience
* Strong knowledge of recipes and food preparation techniques
* Experience with wood-fired grill cooking
* Attention to food quality, portion control, and presentation
* Knowledge of proper food storage and hygiene practices
* Familiarity with occupational health and safety (OH&S) standards
* Ability to follow standard recipes and kitchen procedures
* Inventory and food requisition management
* Ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Experience in a fast-paced professional kitchen
