Jumbuck’s Mulgathing Station in SA runs around 30,000 Merino sheep at peak over an area of 530,700ha with a full-time permanent staff of 7. The property sits about 100km west of the Stuart Highway, with the turnoff mid-way between Glendambo and Coober Pedy. Mulgathing is well resourced and maintained across both infrastructure and equipment. We are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time station hand to the team, a person who is looking for a long-term career opportunity and room to develop. Experience riding 2-wheel motorbikes is expected along with being comfortable living and working in Australia’s remote outback. Experience with sheep or livestock is not essential as we are happy to invest the time to develop the right person in these areas. Accommodation with aircon suitable for a single person is available on-site with internet (Starlink) at the homestead complex. Some of what you will be involved in: Mustering of sheep on 2-wheel motorbikes Water runs – checking various dams, bores and water points Yard work and fencing Various mechanical work including engine and small motor maintenance and servicing The station is easily accessed by vehicle or alternatively by a daily Greyhound Bus Service along the nearby Stuart Highway.
