Due to several large packages of work commencing early in the new year across Sydney and Brisbane, we are keen to talk with experienced civils estimators who are keen to work on large scale Energy / Civil transport infrastructure projects. We are open to both freelance or permanent options with rates to match accordingly. Due to the nature of the projects, the engagement can be long term with room for additional scope as it develops.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for civil projects, including roads, earthworks, drainage, and utilities. Analyze project plans, specifications, and contractual requirements to determine scope, timelines, and risks. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to source competitive pricing. Conduct quantity take-offs and develop detailed cost breakdowns. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams during the bidding process. Review post-tender outcomes and provide cost analysis to improve future submissions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, materials, and construction methods. Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience as a Civils Estimator in the Australian civil construction industry. Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Expert Estimation, Benchmark, or similar tools). Strong understanding of Australian construction standards, codes, and procurement practices. Excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
