Warialda High School is a Yr 7 to 12 comprehensive High School of 165 students, of which with 22% are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. A large proportion of students come from rural properties and family incomes fluctuate with farming conditions. We are a PBL school that maintains strong HSC & NAPLAN results with school wide reading, writing and numeracy approaches forever focused on improving student learning in the classroom. The majority of students have a strong work ethic, sense of community and inclusivity, highly valuing education and extracurricular sport. Currently half of all senior students are engaged in a school based apprenticeships or traineeships with a third continuing further Tertiary studies. Often our students are sought-out for employment across NSW and interstate.
Specific Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 1. Approval to teach Mathematics 7-12 and willingness to teach Mathematics Advanced.
2. Demonstrated ability to inspire, develop and lead diverse staff leading a range of curriculum through evidence-informed, reflective teaching practices to promote high quality teaching and learning.
3. Capacity to lead whole school numeracy directions towards targets and analyse results, with highly developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Demonstrated understanding and ability to genuinely engage with students, parents, staff, and the wider community to build a culture of high expectations and improved outcomes.General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3.
