Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, helping guide decision-making and supporting strategic financial planning across the business.
* Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all reconciliations, journal entries, and financial records are accurate and up to date.
* Manage payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance, while providing clear, concise payroll reporting.
* Prepare and lodge compliance reports, including BAS, Payroll Tax, and Work Cover, ensuring all statutory obligations are met.
* Develop and manage budgets that align with business goals and ensure financial sustainability.
* Assist with audits and support the company's tax compliance efforts.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to implement cost-effective financial policies and strategies, while mitigating financial risks.
* Maintain financial records with precision, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive financial information.
About You
* Hold a bachelor's degree and CA/CPA qualification.
* 4+ years within public practice (audit, tax, advisory) with a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Experience with inventory management accounting is advantageous.
* Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel - Xero is beneficial.
* A high level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
* Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, always looking for ways to optimise processes and contribute to the company's growth and success.
Requirements:
* Experience in a Big 4 or Mid-Tier chartered firm is essential.
* They operate a hybrid working model of 2-3 days in their Byron Bay or Brisbane office.
* Only Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents or long-term visa holders will be considered for this role.
