We are looking for a Vibration Analysis Technician to provide vibration analysis support, service, and advice with respect to timely and accurate information to the Planning, Engineering and Maintenance teams at our Alumina Refinery operation in Gladstone, QLD!
This role is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual who enjoys variety and working with a range of stakeholders.
Working Monday to Friday and reporting to the Condition Monitoring Team Leader as part of the Engineering Team, you will be required to:
5. Undertake vibration analysis on a range of equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, screens, and Ship unloader/loader.
6. Carry out inspections on plant equipment and report findings and make recommendations
7. Work collaboratively with the Planning, Engineering and Maintenance crews whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement to drive reliability best practice
8. Promote a safe working culture and zero-harm approach

What you’ll bring
9. A Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification with a background in mechanical or electrical maintenance or fixed plant equipment
10. Category II Vibration Analyst certification, along with sound knowledge and experience in vibration and oil analysis techniques
11. Category I or II Infrared Inspection certificate
12. Strong focus on safety with the ability to communicate effectively
It would also be beneficial if you have:
13. Experience in condition monitoring, root cause analysis and machine failure investigation
14. Working knowledge of SAP software and associated data collectors 2140
15. Experience with Motion Amplification

Where you’ll be working
With production beginning in 2004 at our Yarwun alumina refinery, located approximately 10 kilometres north-west of Gladstone in Central Queensland, today the operation produces more than three million tonnes of alumina per year.
Around 700 people support the operation, with an additional 350 contractors on site each year as part of scheduled maintenance shutdown activities. Thanks to its ‘Industry ’ focus, Yarwun is also a leader in trialling new technologies to improve operations on site, including 3D printing, robotics and drones in confined spaces, and is home to Rio Tinto’s innovative Queensland Research and Development Centre (QRDC).
