What are we looking for?
An exciting opportunity is now available to join our Media and Communications team as a Media and Communications Specialist. You will work with our close-knit team and be responsible for producing engaging content and innovative communication through earned media, thought leadership, stakeholder and digital communications in partnership with cross-functional teams. You will contribute to the profile of Slater and Gordon and our people by working in collaboration with the broader business to promote the Firm’s brand, vision and values, our people and our clients.
Other key responsibilities will include:
* Managing proactive and reactive day to day media across local, state and national media platforms for the Firm’s practice groups, and identify opportunities and create engaging media and communications content for internal and external channels for various audiences as part of the strategic objectives of the Firm.
* Utilize new media tools and platforms to enhance the Firm’s communication efforts and reach the Firm’s audiences.
* Develop and produce engaging content for various platforms, including social media, websites, blogs, and newsletters.
* Design and implement innovative communication strategies to promote the Slater and Gordon brand, vision and values, internally and externally.
* Conceptualize and execute creative campaigns that resonate with the Firm’s audiences and drive engagement.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging across all channels. Interstate travel will be required from time to time (when applicable).
What will you bring?
Key to your success in this role will be:
* Tertiary qualifications in the areas of Communications, Journalism or Public Relations
* Proven experience in media and communications, with a strong portfolio of content creation.
* Proficiency in using new media tools and platforms.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and excellent attention to detail.
* Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas.
* Proven ability to think strategically.
* Ability to understand and break-down complex issues.
* Strong team player with the ability to collaborate proactively and effectively.
* Experience in media relations and managing press coverage.
* Ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights.
* Excellent interpersonal skills; compassionate and empathetic.
* The ability to work to tight timeframes and multiple deadlines.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to assess and manage risk.
* Ability work with staff across all levels of the organisation.
