This global organisation located in Brisbane is seeking a skilled CNC Operator/Machinist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for machining, manufacturing, and modifying components according to detailed work orders using CNC machines. You will ensure all work meets quality standards and adhere to safety regulations.
Key responsiblilites
* Machine, manufacture, and modify components according to drawings and instructions on work orders using CNC machines.
* Record details on work orders and sign for completed work.
* Ensure all work submitted for quality inspection conforms to layout sheets and/or supplied drawings.
* Use electronic workstations to log on and off tasks to cost centres as they are performed.
* Use hand tools and equipment associated with the performance of work duties.
* Carry out maintenance on machinery as required.
* Must have completed on-the-job training to standards approved by a competent individual.
* Perform JPTMS (jigs, programs, tools, materials, setup sheets).
* Competent in setting, running, and checking manufactured components.
* Control, setup, and run 3, 4, and 5-axis machines independently.
* Provide on-the-job training to lower-level CNC Machinists.
* Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions and irregularities.
* Maintain the company’s high-quality standards.
* Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
* Perform other duties as required consistent with the employee’s skills and qualifications.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a CNC Machinist.
* Competence in setting up, running, and checking components on CNC machines.
* Ability to control, setup, and run 3, 4, and 5-axis machines without supervision.
* Experience in providing training to junior CNC Machinists.
* Strong understanding of quality inspection processes.
* Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
* Effective communication and documentation skills.
