Based in Darwin or Perth, you will report to the Defence Warranty Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, management, and coordination of corrective maintenance activities required to ensure Defence vessels remain operational. You will be required to ensure projects are delivered on time and cost-effectively in accordance with warranty contractual performance requirements. The Project Coordinator should have the ability to manage basic technical and contract complexities and proactively find solutions to support outcomes which are in the best interests of both Austal and its clients.Key Responsibilities IncludePlan and sequence corrective maintenance activities collaboratively across multi-disciplined teams including engineering, logistics, resources, contractors, support, and shipyards.Use project management practices and controls to drive delivery outcomes to the required standards for quality and safety.Proactively manage corrective maintenance (warranty) projects to their final resolution.Communicate, manage, and report timely information to manage stakeholder expectations.Reconcile warranty claims with finance and accounting teams.Manage scope and interdependencies across delivery teams, contractors, support teams, and stakeholders to meet contractual outcomes.Use sound commercial/technical judgement to lead corrective maintenance decisions.Negotiate outcomes between Austal and the client to ensure commercially sound outcomes.Exemplify and role model Austal values of Excellence, Customer Focus, Integrity, and Teamwork.Qualifications And ExperienceEngineering and/or Project Management qualification and/or Trade Qualification.Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Understanding of safety management practices including Control of Contractors and High-Risk Operations (HROs).Hold a Construction safety induction (white card).Desirable SkillsMarine Operations Experience – Ship Repair, Ship Building, Operator, Equipment.Sustainment or corrective maintenance experience.Experience working in Defence environments.Commercial Financial/Budgetary experience.Warranty claim administration and reporting.Austal provides a safe and inclusive work environment for all employees.
