We are looking for a Lead Mechanic preferably with previous leadership experience who is self-motivated, a clear communicator, career driven, and experienced in bus maintenance.
ATG’s fleet consists of buses and coaches with the capacity of between 13 to 73 seats. It is a hands-on role where you’ll be on the tools as well as providing direction to a small team. As the Lead Mechanic, you will assist the Workshop Manager for the South West region with efficient workflow and job allocation throughout the workshop and directly report to the Operations Manager for the Busselton depot.
The position offers a permanent 38 working week and the successful applicant will receive a workshop vehicle with fuel card and company mobile phone as well as the opportunity to receive additional bonus payments for on-call weekend work.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
1. Preventive maintenance and repairs to depot fleet as required
2. Lead, direct and support workshop and operational staff
3. Co-ordinate scheduled services, defect reports, government inspections and any variations as they occur or as required for the efficient operation of the workshop and continuity of the bussing services
4. Carry out in-process and final inspections
5. Assist with the generation, distributions and maintenance of daily work schedules
6. Review vehicle defect report sheets and raise work orders for repairs
7. Review and sign off on vehicle repairs and maintenance sheets
8. Organise repairs and service to workshop equipment
9. Ensure all tools and equipment that are used are safe and stored correctly
10. Observe and maintain a high level of safety at all times
11. Investigate non-conformances and manage resolutions
12. Ensure equipment is calibrated when needed including overseeing the records management
13. Maintain vehicle service data and history records in company database
14. Responsible for compliance with the Workplace Health & Safety Management Plan
Requirements:
1. Work independently, as well as part of a team with leadership experience
2. Fault finding and electronic diagnostic skills
3. Current C-class licence essential and MR/HR Licence advantageous or willing to learn
4. High level of organisational skills and able to prioritise
5. Ability to pass and complete Alcohol and other Drug screening
6. Ability to work overtime or on-call hours desirable
