The region offers many unique opportunities to explore and enjoy world class natural and cultural attractions as well as appreciate the wilderness values of the area.We currently have an opportunity for a Trainee Ranger to join our Yawuru Joint Management team.Operating primarily in the Yawuru Marine and Conservation parks and under the immediate direction of the Operations Officer (Mentor), you will participate in a range of activities relating to conservation, and parks and wildlife work within the department including prescribed burning, bushfire suppression and control, fauna and flora protection, construction and maintenance of infrastructure, support of tourism and recreational activities and the operation of associated machinery.This position offers development opportunities for Aboriginal people with preference given to Yawuru Community members or approved Yawuru applicants.At the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), we have adopted Leadership Expectations which provides a common understanding of the mindsets and expected behaviours required of all our employees and the public sector.
