Product Design and Development - Status AnxietyProduct Design and Development - Status Anxiety Established Australian accessories brand Status Anxiety (head office in Taren Point, Sydney) is on the hunt for a Product Design and Development team member. The role is majority in the office, with some work from home possible. The successful candidate will work alongside the broader design team to support the Creative Director in designing seasonal product ranges aligned to our brand strategy. A positive, upbeat, can-do attitude is a must as well as real attention to detail and a flexible, hands-on approach.Key Responsibilities: Summary:End to end product design and development from researching trends and finding inspiration to developing mood boards and tech packs, liaising with factories to coordinate samples and ensuring the highest quality control through the production process.Detail:Support the Creative Director in designing a product range aligned with the brand strategy, as well as the option plan, price points, margin targets, and trade insights.Conduct research projects, including emerging trends and inspiration based on customer segmentation and brand direction (as needed).Uphold a meticulous approach to all design tasks and conduct thorough quality checks.Coordinate tech packs, style numbers, and colour palette management.Coordinate lab dips, hardware samples, and fabric samples under the guidance of the Creative Director.Conceptualise and sketch the range using Illustrator and Photoshop; develop and maintain all range documents.Prepare and collate relevant samples and documentation for key meetings.Provide seniors with an evaluation of range performance by assessing weekly sales reports and taking learnings into future actions.Maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure the design vision is achieved and communicate pricing, timelines, and quality control standards.Adhere to the company timetable and critical path to ensure timely delivery into stores.Complete key administrative tasks promptly to ensure the maintenance of workflow across departments in accordance with the critical path.Maintain seasonal design boards and capsule presentations for new launches and other projects.Coordinate sales sample ranges for Sales, Marketing, and Press according to seasonal critical path key dates.Coordinate the measuring of samples/PPS for product descriptions, maintaining QC of the range.Complete bulk checks when products arrive at our warehouse to ensure items meet our standards.Consistently review current products and manage all design changes/updates.Assist with SMS processes and liaise directly with factories.Review and approve all bulk material swatches for future POs.Consistently coordinate and follow up for the on-time delivery of SMS according to the season's critical path.Coordinate PPS feedback and ensure QC is aligned with SMS before bulk production.Coordinate with the Retoucher on any imagery needed and ensure files are ready on time for product launches.Manage new imagery by organizing file names and folders.Organise product/ghost imagery for all new season products.Organise products and shot lists for photoshoots and manage the products on shoot days to ensure everything runs smoothly.Assist the Art Director with photoshoots, styling, steaming, and helping the model/photographer achieve the desired mood/direction for the season.Manage and organise the sample storage room and assist with the range setup for business meetings and showings.Track and manage the receipt and organisation of pre-production and shipment samples, maintaining up-to-date sample and delivery trackers.Coordinate 'Retail Training Guides' for all new products to ensure that staff are fully trained.Be confident in Adobe and Microsoft programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Excel.This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work in a flexible, fast-paced and friendly team environment.
