Job Description
Our respected client, Sunraysia Hospitality Group, is looking for a committed full-time Chef to become part of the team at The Spanish Grill, a leading wood-fired grill and steakhouse located in Mildura, Victoria. As the city's only restaurant specialising in wood-fired cuisine, The Spanish Grill blends tradition with flavour, inspired by its origins as a 1960s establishment at the Mildura Grand Hotel.
Offering delicious, fire-grilled dishes in a welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant is located in one of Mildura’s oldest areas, with picturesque views of the Murray River and the nearby riverfront development. The Chef will be responsible for overseeing the planning, preparation, and cooking of food for both dining and catering services. The annual salary for the role is $70,000 to $80,000.
Responsibilities:
* Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and manage food supply orders.
* Oversee food quality throughout preparation and presentation.
* Collaborate with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waitstaff on food preparation.
* Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide culinary procedures.
* Prepare and cook food while ensuring hygiene standards are met.
* Enforce food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
* Select, train, and supervise kitchen staff.
* Manage food preservation, including freezing techniques when necessary.
* Innovate and create new recipes to enhance the menu.
* Monitor inventory levels and minimise waste through efficient management.
* Respond to customer feedback and make adjustments to improve dining experiences.
Qualifications:
* Should have an AQF Diploma in Hospitality Management.
* Must have at least one (1) year of relevant work experience in an Australian setting.
