About the opportunity
We currently have 2 rewarding opportunities to join us as Finance Business Partners / Senior Project Accountant’s with our F35 and Lead-In Fighter (LIF) teams. As a member of the Finance teams supporting these high-profile Programs, you will be collaborating with and supporting the Programs using your skills gained from previous experience working in Finance and supporting the Accounting Manager in maintaining the financial functions within the project to ensure integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision-making for the project.
These roles can be based out of our Williamtown (NSW), Edinburgh Parks or Flinders Street (SA) offices.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparation and review of monthly project reporting, including Contract Status Reviews (CSR’s)/Business Unit Reviews (BUR’s)/Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s)/ Project Status Report (PSR’s), Project Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flows, Work in Progress (WIP) management and cost and revenue accruals and Monthly Management Review (MMR) reporting
* Preparation and review of variance reporting versus prior forecasts and budgets
* Preparation and review of project reconciliations
* Improve processes used to calculate accurate, timely and efficient reporting of the financial results for the Project
* Business partnering with stakeholders to co-ordinate finance inputs into the monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) process
* Oversee Foreign Exposure (FX) management and hedging to minimise FX exposure
* Operate, maintain and improve budgeting and forecasting processes for the project
* Review Weekly Cash Flow forecasts
* Oversee project billing
* Ensure compliance to corporate guidelines, policies and procedures as well as accounting standards and legislation
* Provide assistance to Finance Manager and Accounting Managers as required
* Input into project risk management processes including maintenance of finance related risks in the risk register
* Assist in the improvement of financial and project related processes, to achieve accurate, timely and efficient reporting to support informed decision making
* Co-ordinate and lead in the preparation and review of the project annual budgets, 5-year IBP, monthly re-forecast
About YOU
* A degree qualification
* Completed CPA Australia or CA
* Demonstrated experience in a finance related role
* The ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and members of the broader finance team
* Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High literacy and numeracy skills
* Advanced MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
* Exposure to Oracle ERP desirable
* Previous experience in a large project environment (desirable)

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances.
