Chief Executive Officer - The Royal Children's Hospital MelbourneThe PositionThe Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne (RCH) seeks to appoint a strategic and visionary senior executive to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Leading this iconic health service, the CEO will be responsible to the Board for the strategic and operational performance of the hospital. In a continually evolving healthcare environment, the CEO will build on RCH's reputation to ensure the hospital is not only the leading paediatric hospital in Australia, but also recognised and respected internationally.The CEO will focus on key outcomes including sustaining the highest quality care, education and research, a sound and sustainable financial position, and a collaborative and supportive approach to key government and health service stakeholders. With the RCH a crucial component of the Parkville precinct, the CEO will drive the promotion of critical health partnerships, develop effective relationships with the community and consumers of care, and ensure quality health services are extended into the broader Victorian health services. Key relationships maintained by the CEO include those with the RCH Foundation, Murdoch Children's Research Institute and the University of Melbourne. The CEO will ensure all services are delivered at the highest possible standards, with appropriate systems in place to maximise clinical effectiveness and minimise risk.Equipped with senior executive level experience within the health service industry, the successful candidate will demonstrate a record of successfully achieving outcomes through strong internal leadership and influence. The appointee will present with gravitas and will be skilled at building and maintaining external relationships with government and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical understanding with people development skills to build people capability within the organisation, and engage and support staff. Through exemplary strategic and operational leadership, the appointee will evidence successful implementation of change in a complex and dynamic environment. An ability to develop and implement a vision that engages beyond the hospital will be essential.
