About the Role: In this challenging, fast paced and dynamic role, your primary role will be to proactively develop new business opportunities for the company.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships to achieve revenue targets set by the business.
This position requires a proactive and driven individual who can effectively identify and pursue new business prospects while ensuring excellent account management with existing clients.
Key Responsibilities: New Business Development: Achieve sales targets for new business as set by the National Sales Manager and Head of Inside Sales.
Prepare and follow a weekly sales plan, ensuring the completion of minimum weekly call requirements.
Generate business opportunities for all divisions of the company through your contacts and networking efforts.
Track and manage the sales pipeline, identifying future targets and opportunities.
Account Management: Proactively maintain strong customer relationships with existing accounts.
Conduct regular and timely sales calls based on the customer tier level, as agreed with the National Sales Manager.
Achieve sales targets for account management, expanding their offerings and selling various facets of the company's capabilities.
Reporting and Administration: Accurately complete Weekly Activity, Monthly Sales Reports, and Pipeline documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies while processing expense claims and credit card statements.
Represent the company professionally at industry events, seminars, trade shows, and conferences.
Organize and attend client entertainment events, including sporting matches and meals.
Maintain customer and supplier contacts in Enterprise and public folders.
Skills and Experience: Essential: Ideally a sales background in the shipping or a related industry such as freight and logistics.
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
Strong working knowledge of CargoWise One would be ideal.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Customer service experience in any industry.
Desired: Relevant tertiary qualification.
5+ years' sales experience in the shipping industry.
