About the role:
As a Mechanical Team Leader, you will:
1. Lead and take part in Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) training, communication sessions and toolbox talks, ensuring that SHE is the first consideration in maintenance activities
2. Ensure Risk Assessments are correctly completed
3. Safety observations are undertaken frequently and mentor/coach team members where necessary.
4. Manage day to day work responsibilities for site mechanical workers
5. Manage 2–4-week maintenance plan, including review of spares and cost
6. Ensure that plant equipment is inspected and maintained to an appropriate level to achieve budgeted plant performance KPI’s
7. Identify possible cost reductions in areas of control
8. Improve plant reliability performance towards long term targets by ensuring a high quality of work is constantly performed
9. Provide support and resources for plant breakdowns
10. Provide input to planners so that they can develop and deliver the weekly plan
11. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and maximise value of maintenance spend
12. Identify areas of improvement for direct reports, including apprentice mentoring, development and TAFE performance
13. Organise cost effective training, coaching and communications to meet the identified needs of the team
About you:
14. Trade qualified within the mechanical maintenance field
15. Experience in heavy industry/mining
16. Proven leadership and team building skills and experience
17. Strong written and verbal communication skills
18. Strong commitment to safety with the ability to influence a positive safety culture
19. Understanding of SAP/CMMS maintenance systems and processes
20. Solid Microsoft Office suite experience
21. Effective written and verbal communication skills
