Reporting to the Director Property Operations, the Associate Director Facilities Management leads the Facilities team responsible for delivering a safe optimal performing workplace across the Optus portfolio which encompasses Corporate, Network, Retail and Satellite facilities, enabling Optus’s amazing people to perform at their best. The Associate Director Facilities Management will create and drive the strategies required to deliver an optimized and cost-effective environment, maximising systems, and technology to enhance the services, drive efficiency with a focus on safety, asset management strategies, lifecycle management, energy efficiency, and sustainability in enhancing the employee experience and culture for the outstanding people at Optus. Your skills to pay the bills, The role will be responsible for leading a national team consisting of direct and indirect reports that lead all aspects of delivery of Facilities Management services nationally, ensuring that our facilities meet operational requirements, align with safety regulations, and contribute to overall business objectives. Undertake inspections/technical assessments of buildings and equipment, management, and control of service- and maintenance contractors, management and control of tenant installations and execution of building relevant activities as predetermined by the Director Property Operations. Be responsible for work health and safety at the corporate facilities and to coordinate such with retail team. Plan, direct, coordinate and budget, either personally or through subordinate personnel, all activities concerned with the operational infrastructure and operational management of the asset. Lead management of utilities and improvement of utility costs and consumption/ all sustainability requirements. Provide leadership across hard and soft facilities operations, establishing long-term operational plans as well as short-term goals and objectives. With qualifications in a relevant engineering field, drive operational strategies and lifecycle management regimes focussed on improving the economic life of critical infrastructure and building services assets. Your skills to pay the bills, Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline. Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. Confirmed experience in facilities management, with a focus on technical facilities such as data centres, exchanges, or manufacturing plants. Experience working in, or for, a large corporation, involving customers, vendors, and employees. Expert in understanding of building systems, HVAC, electrical systems, and other technical aspects of facility management. Strong maintenance experience and experience with facility management systems. Exceptional communication, relationship management and leadership skills with a proven history of managing diverse teams. Strong commercial negotiation skills will be required for this role.
