Position Title: Clinical Midwife Consultant - Lactation and Infant Feeding
Location: Gosford, NSW
This recruitment may be used to fill future positions via an eligibility list for permanent, full time, part time, temporary and casual positions.
Primary Purpose:
The Clinical Midwifery Consultant will provide a complex and diverse consultancy service to women, families and health care teams that enables the provision of contemporary, high quality, person-centred clinical practice in the specialty of 'Lactation and Infant Feeding' within Maternity Services. The provision of a Grade 2 Consultancy service to women, clinicians and managers at all levels, throughout the CCLHD, across the domains of; Professional Clinical Leadership, Clinical Services Strategic Planning and Management, Education, Research and Clinical Service and Consultancy.
Key Accountabilities
1. Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.
2. Provides contemporary clinical advice in the direct care environment to women, carers, nurses, midwives, doctors and other health professionals in the specifically focused on lactation.
3. Consistently role models a high level of clinical knowledge, expertise, advanced skills and judgement in the speciality of lactation and infant feeding.
4. Collaborates, engages and participates with all key stakeholders in the planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced informed care to women and infants (or their carers) accessing Maternity Services for lactation
5. Provides education on complex clinical issues to clients and carers and is able to identify and implement innovative clinical practice models.
6. Develops specialised education resources for patient/career/community to be utilised by other health care professionals.
7. Initiates and undertakes and utilises research evidence in the provision of lactation
8. Participates in quality improvement activities and provide a high level of customer service to all stakeholders including women / infants, staff and others.
9. Comply with all NSW Health and CCLHD policies and procedures.
The role involves providing Grade 2 Consultancy services to women, clinicians, and managers across all levels within the CCLHD. This encompasses domains such as Professional Clinical Leadership, Clinical Services Strategic Planning and Management, Education, Research, and Clinical Service Consultancy.

About You:
15. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife (Division 1) with at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field of lactation consultancy.
16. Relevant Masters qualification and/or hold a contemporary professional practice portfolio containing evidence of postgraduate qualifications, learning and experience that underpin demonstrable knowledge and skills commensurate with the level and type of practice expected of the role.
