The Role
Our new Operating Theatre complex needs an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to be an integral member of the clinical team and provide a high level of clinical and professional support to other members of the multi-disciplinary patient care team.
Coordinate, deliver and evaluate clinical nursing education programs for Anaesthetics and Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You'll provide clinical supervision to support the development of evidence-based, person-centred nursing care.
The CNE will be guided by the Nurse Unit Manager to lead, develop, co-ordinate, deliver/implement and evaluate education and learning for nurses and other staff as required within The Sutherland Hospital, Anaesthetics and PACU.
The CNE will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff. Such education may include orientation and/or transitioning for new nursing staff, undergraduate and casual nurses as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff. The CNE will provide clinical supervision at the point of care within everyday clinical practice, in line with the ANMC Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives.
Surgeries performed included General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Endoscopy, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Ear, Nose and Throat, Ophthalmology, Vascular, Paediatrics. We are a 24-hour service performing elective and emergency surgery between 0830hrs and 1800hrs and emergency surgery only from 1800hrs until 0830hrs.
