About the role
The APS6 Technical Advisory has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise both initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within the functions.
Duties
5. Providing Health and Allied Health clinical and technical expertise using a coaching and mentoring approach, advising on the most appropriate supports to achieve participant outcomes.
6. Managing complex and sensitive conversations and situations associated with approval of funding.
7. Liaising and working with stakeholders, delegates, partners and providers to ensure consistent decision making and outcome achievement.
8. Supporting the agency staff conducting internal and Administrative Appeals Tribunal review of decisions. (AAT)
9. Contributing to provision of Health and Allied Health clinical and technical expertise to inform Agency guidance and policy.
10. Providing high quality written and telephone advice and record keeping.
Must possess relevant academic qualifications with currency of accreditation and membership with Professional Peak Bodies. Must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or be a member under Allied Health Professional Australia (AHPA), together with extensive professional clinical experience in health, allied health or disability sectors.
Qualifications (any of the following)
11. Occupational Therapy
12. Prosthetics and Orthotics
13. Speech Pathology
14. Physiotherapy
15. Psychology
16. Registered Nursing (must be eligible for AHPRA registration)
17. Social Work
18. Mental Health Practitioners
19. Specialists Behavioural Support Practitioner
Desirable experience
20. Proven clinical experience in specific allied health expertise.
21. Sound professional / clinical knowledge.
22. Experience working with people with a disability and/or chronic health conditions.
23. Familiar with agency legislation and funding framework.
