School Nurse for Australian Islamic CollegeAustralian Islamic College is a God-centered K-12 co-educational facility catering for over 5,300 students from five sites at (Thornlie, Dianella, Forrestdale, Henley Brook & Kewdale WA) and one site in Adelaide, SA.We are seeking passionate and dynamic School Nurses to provide care for our students from a culturally and linguistically diverse background at our Dianella and Thornlie Campuses.The successful applicant will be responsible for:Delivering student health care including to students with chronic health issues such as asthma, anaphylaxis, and diabetes.Conducting evidence-based assessments and screenings.Assisting with immunization compliance.Responding to any student emergencies or health concerns throughout the school.Supporting school with child health assessments.Health Promotion.Maintaining clinical standards.Participating in quality improvement initiatives and upholding safety protocols.Liaising with teachers, parents/caregivers, and other internal and external stakeholders.Upholding school's values such as cultural integrity and professionalism.Maintaining confidentiality.Ability to work cross-culturally.The position also requires flexibility in attending all of the College’s schools in WA and fulfilling any additional assigned duties as per student needs that relate to a School Nurse.Minimum Requirements:Qualified nurse with current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.Working knowledge of Child Health and an understanding of current practices, theories, and values.Knowledge of child development and how it relates to students in school settings.Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills and experience in facilitating and engaging in health promotion activities for children and their parents.Ability to work autonomously in a multidisciplinary team with diverse students and staff.Experience in keeping detailed and accurate records both hard copy and electronically.Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and security of records and information.Demonstrate knowledge and Understanding of Primary Health Care principles and social determinants of health.Knowledge of adherence to the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation’s National School Nursing Standards for Practice: Registered Nurse.A valid Working with Children Check and if requested proof of a clean criminal record.Knowledge of funding applications and eligibility requirements would be ideal.Likelihood of needing to travel between campuses, requiring own vehicle.Ability to work in both a proactive (planning, screening) and reactive (assess and support as needs arise) space.Maintain a database of work conducted and regularly provide a summary report to Executive Principal / CEO or their delegate.Applicants must be able to demonstrate their conviction in:The existence of God, to whom we are constantly accountable.That schools are about academic achievement, while instilling values and morals.That a caring supportive environment is a priority.If this sounds like you, please apply online by clicking the 'Apply Now' icon.
