Company Overview: An established provider of mechanical, electrical, structural, and construction engineering solutions is seeking a Project Manager for their HVAC division. The company focuses on delivering quality HVAC services to commercial and industrial clients, ensuring efficient project execution and customer satisfaction. Projects are primarily located in the Sydney Metropolitan area, with occasional interstate work.
Role Summary: The successful candidate will manage the planning, execution, and completion of multiple HVAC projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise to effectively manage project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage HVAC projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and client expectations.
* Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure efficiency and profitability.
* Overseeing the procurement of major equipment and materials, negotiating with suppliers for optimal pricing and delivery timelines.
* Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring all work aligns with project timelines and quality standards.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
* Maintain accurate financial oversight, including cash flow forecasts, progress claims, and cost-to-complete budgets.
* Provide monthly financial reports, including cost tracking and budget forecasts.
* Develop and nurture strong relationships with existing clients while actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, WHS regulations, and environmental sustainability requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the HVAC division to enhance operational efficiencies and service delivery.
Key Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in HVAC project management, preferably within a mechanical services or commercial contracting environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and HVAC systems.
* Proven experience in estimating, procurement, contract administration, and project delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and engineer solutions from technical drawings and specifications.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management software. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and AutoCAD is advantageous.
Qualifications
* Engineering Diploma (Mechanical) or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
