Established in 1994, Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation (MAC) has grown to be a prominent local community-owned organisation that delivers a wide range of social and community services from several sites across the Ovens & Murray region. MAC was established by local Aboriginal Community members with the aim to have a healthy and proud community through motivation, education and cultural acknowledgement and giving a sense of belonging.
The Programs Manager will lead the establishment and management of Family Services programs, providing strategic oversight for staff and ensuring services effectively support and strengthen families within the community.
This role involves empowering the Family Services team in building strong relationships with children and families while employing a range of active engagement strategies to support vulnerable and at-risk children, young people, and their families.
You will need to possess: Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work (or relevant qualifications) are preferred and/or extensive community sector management experience.Knowledge of the Child Protection and welfare system, with experience collaborating with diverse professionals and other family service agencies.Capability in designing and delivering practical support services to enhance parental skills and/or capacity.Expertise in the health and wellbeing challenges for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.Experience in developing, securing and managing funding and partnerships, including tenders, submissions, and contract negotiations (advantageous).Experience in implementing and establishing social, emotional, educational programs that deliver high-quality services with positive outcomes.Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven expertise in staff leadership and management.Additional benefits working at MAC: Salary Packaging tax benefits up to $16,000.Paid team building and health and wellbeing RDO.Gifted leave – Christmas and New Year.Free community Gym membership.Ongoing professional development opportunities within this role, to learn and stay updated on contemporary practices.Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals are strongly encouraged.
