Senior Manager, Regulatory Engagement Do work that matters: As part of Compliance, our team has three primary teams spanning regulatory relationship management across APRA, ASIC and RBA and managing regulatory engagement framework, system and strategy for the Group.
See yourself in the team: As a member of the APRA Relationship Team, you will play an important role working closely with Business Unit stakeholders to provide regulatory advice from a cross regulator perspective and drive Group Regulatory Strategy initiatives.
Your day could look like but not limited to: With support and coaching from the Head of APRA Relationship Team:
Provide prudential regulatory advice and for your allocated portfolios. Manage relevant APRA queries and information requests including necessary subject matter expert advice and guidance to the business. Champion the CBA Regulatory Engagement Principles to deliver simpler, better, and more proactive regulatory engagement for the CBA Group. Draft internal briefing notes for the Board/Board Committees and CEO ahead of major engagements with the prudential regulator. Monitor regulatory risk of information sharing by regulators. Ensure record management and administrative actions have been completed as required under the appropriate CBA standards and team procedures. Draft content for inclusion into Board regulatory reporting for senior and Executive Management committees and CBA Board. What successful candidates will look like? Ideally you will bring experience with knowledge of the Australian Regulatory environment within financial services. You will also be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Additional requirements we're looking for: Risk Mindset – All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify, understand, openly discuss, and act on current and future risks. Proven experience working in a Regulatory Affairs, Compliance or Risk management advisory role gained ideally in the banking industry, or other financial services firms. Financial risk management experience (Capital Adequacy, Credit and Credit Modelling, Liquidity, Market Risk) through reporting, modelling or policy development roles would be highly regarded. Sound knowledge of APRA's role and its powers through the provision of advice to senior stakeholders. Strong service orientation and well-developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for prioritising work, addressing inquiries and developing relationships with senior Business Unit stakeholders across complex organisations. Experience in the preparation of reporting and briefing notes on emerging risks and regulatory focus areas. Strong analytical, coordination and issue and incident management skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines. Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Risk Management, Finance, Legal or other related fields is preferred. Role-model for the CBA values: Care, Courage, and Commitment.
