About the role
This is an Expression of Interest for a Site Engineer – Underground Services.
UGL Major Projects division is expecting significant growth for 2025 in Western Australia as we support large Building Services Projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for locals and those open to FIFO and DIDO roles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the planning and execution of underground service projects, including water, sewer, gas, and telecommunications.
* Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency.
* Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide the installation process.
* Ensure all underground services are installed according to industry standards and project requirements.
* Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
* Identify and resolve any technical issues or obstacles that arise during the project.
* Implement solutions to address design or construction challenges.
* Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
* Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs and reports.
* Report any deviations from project plans to management and suggest corrective actions.
About You
* 4-year degree qualification to Bachelor status in civil engineering (and recognised by IEAust).
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer.
* Experience in managing underground service projects or similar infrastructure projects.
* Familiarity with relevant construction and safety standards.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and follow-through within a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
