Grampians Health is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our team as Health Care Worker Trainees, a great opportunity for anyone interested in working in healthcare and gaining a qualification while being paid. The program will commence Jan/Feb 2025 with a 12-month contract completing in Jan/Feb 2026.
As a trainee you will work four days a week, one to two days in the classroom learning the theoretical component of your new role. The other two to three days will be spent putting your learning into practice gaining hands on experience in one of Grampians Health Care Communities while being supported by our dedicated team of nurses and carers.
The successful applicants will be enrolled in the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) through Federation TAFE and on completion will become a qualified Health Care Worker.
They will have a high degree of flexibility and a willingness to learn and must demonstrate competence in the following behaviors and qualifications:
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Evidence of achievement of a minimum level 3 in Language, Literacy & Numeracy testing
* Previous experience working in a healthcare setting would be an advantage
* Be eligible for Australian Government Apprenticeship Incentive program
* Meets criteria for eligibility in the Traineeship Certificate III Individual Support
* Basic computer knowledge and keyboard skills with the ability to utilize computer software, particularly use of the Microsoft Office suite
* Managing work (includes time management) – effectively managing one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently
Working Environment
* Ability to work shift work including AM and PM shifts over a seven-day roster two to three days per week as well as attending classes one to two days a week 9.00am to 3.30pm
* Reliable transport & the ability to work from various locations within GH
