Job Description
The Position
Reporting to the Laboratory Team Leader, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for ensuring analytical activities and associated tasks are conducted in a safe, professional, timely manner and in accordance with required policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Accurately completing assigned tasks according to approved Laboratory procedures and work instructions in a timely fashion.
* Managing and preparing samples and reagents for analysis.
* Undertaking analyses with various analytical equipment and instrumentation as required.
* Contribute to a positive culture with a high regard for Safety, Inclusion and Diversity.
* Identifying anomalies in analytical results and assisting with the investigation of non-conformances.
* Ensure good housekeeping practices are upheld.
* Undertake calibration and maintenance of equipment, consumables stock inventory control and assisting with other duties as required.
Work Experience / Technical Skill Requirements
* Computer literacy (MS Office).
* Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
* Highly motivated with proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good organizational, communication and time management skills.
* Quality focused with a high attention to detail.
* Previous laboratory experience - desirable.
Education / Qualification Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in a scientific or related discipline – desirable
