This role will be a part of delivering quality outcomes by leading quality engineering delivery teams, providing input to strategies, accurately planning, preparing, executing, and reporting the testing of systems and applications prior to production deployment. In this role you’ll get to… Provide and implement technical and thought leadership on both manual and automation test frameworks, quality engineering tools, techniques and processes, to colleagues working within cross-functional teams, other quality engineering personnel, Service Owners, Delivery Owners and Project Managers. Work closely with Quality Engineering Managers, Lead Quality Engineers, and Release Managers on the quality and performance of sprints, and releases. Drive an Automation led approach for System and SIT across the Bank. Apply knowledge of CD-CI and automation frameworks to optimise test coverage, create and maintain reusable artefacts, and reduce defect leakage throughout the SLDC. Look for the opportunity to bring forward early testing in the test specialisation assigned (performance, accessibility, service virtualisation, or data and data migration etc). Provide regular reporting to the test leadership team and delivery stakeholders on the progress of test preparation, execution, and defect management. Provide input to or prepare Test summary reports. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand delivery requirements and determine the appropriate test approach and test coverage based on the scope and nature of change. Identify environment, service virtualisation, and data requirements for testing activities. Ownership of quality best practices and standards in structuring, authoring, and maintaining manual and automated test scripts. Governance of these standards and frameworks across the squads. Deliver using standards, frameworks, templates, and tools endorsed and governed by the Enterprise Testing Integrated Environments & Release Service team. Contribute to the collective uplift of testing capability through capture and sharing of knowledge. Participation in uplift initiatives. Proactively manage risk; meet all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to Process and Procedures pertinent to role; and escalate events, issues, or breaches as they are identified. What you’ll bring to the role To be successful in the role you will have: An agile, continuous improvement mindset and understanding of how quality engineering functions in agile delivery. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in use of testing tools and applications including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft365, Tosca, REST Assured, Copado, Salesforce, qTest, SQL. Proficiency in ETL, data, mainframe, cloud technologies (AWS/GCP) and integration (EAI/middleware) testing. Ability to build and/or maintain test automation frameworks. Ability to evangelise Automation and to mentor/train others in Automation concepts, tools, frameworks and languages. Experience in BDD and TDD preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively inform all levels of management and stakeholders.
