We are now seeking an experienced Full Time Grounds and Maintenance Officer to support the Operations Team to ensure the trail and surrounds are safe and well-maintained for our guests!About the RoleAs our energetic Grounds and Maintenance Officer, you will report to the Operations Manager – Astra Lumina and work within our wider Grounds and Maintenance team to ensure the upkeep of the trail and Sanctuary grounds. You will prioritize and complete tasks to a very high standard and in good timeframes.Your background may include landscaping or general handyman experience, as you will carry out labouring duties including general building and grounds maintenance, weeding, planting, mulching, spraying, mowing, brush cutting, and soft and hard landscaping. You may also undertake a variety of landscaping projects and work well in a team to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.As part of a whole-team approach, you will assist with operations, including supporting our commercial and guest experience teams, as well as path sweeping and other tasks to ensure that every guest has an unforgettable Astra Lumina journey.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have experience in a similar position. You will be a safe, tidy, friendly, and courteous worker, as visibility and interactions with guests are important. Other key skills and qualifications include:Maintenance all-rounder experience highly desirable, along with knowledge of and compliance with work health and safety guidelines.Able to follow direction, work without supervision, and demonstrate initiative to complete job tasks within given time frames.Reliable, hard-working, with demonstrated experience working in a team.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.Able to work Tuesday to Saturday from 9am – 5pm and on Tuesday from 6am – 3pm, as required by the attraction’s operating hours.Prepared to work in an outdoor environment, with walking and lifting necessary, and in a workplace that has native wildlife such as birds and reptiles.Must hold a current manual driver’s licence; First Aid Qualification is an advantage.This role requires a high level of health and fitness to perform physical duties outdoors in all weather conditions, including walking long distances, bending, twisting, and lifting within environments that may be noisy and dusty.What we can offerWe are committed to ensuring our Team Members are protected, taken care of, and celebrated!
