MZ Mining is a mineral sands mining company focused on the production of heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) in the Murray Basin in South Australia. The Company’s principal asset is the Mindarie Mineral Sands Project located 150km east of Adelaide in the Mallee region of South Australia with a Head Office in Adelaide.
This newly created role, based at the Mindarie site provides the opportunity to be part of the Maintenance team in this exciting project.
About the Role:
This position, reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, accepts the statutory appointment as an Electrical Supervisor and ensures compliance with associated statutory responsibilities.
Duties include:
* Supervise and coordinate the electrical activities ensuring productive and quality work outputs.
* Supervise and coordinate regular inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
* Develop within the team the proactive inspection culture to enhance the electrical availability of the plant.
* Develop and foster a positive feedback culture within the team.
* Ability to develop SOPs and associated safety standards and documentation.
* Set the standard of a positive safety culture within the group.
* Oversee the scoping of new electrical infrastructure works and ensure work is done correctly, on time and to standard.
* Supervise critical HV and LV electrical maintenance tasks ensuring the work is completed safely and on time.
* Assist, guide and mentor the electrical team as required and provide hands-on assistance as required.
* Liaise closely with the Maintenance Superintendent and Processing team to prioritise electrical services.
* Assist in work planning, scheduling and resource allocation with a focus on the weekly electrical maintenance team.
* Understand the monthly processing forecast and communicate plant targets with the electrical team.
* Ensure employees receive adequate training and instructions to complete their work.
* Compliance with Section 274 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA) (Managing electrical risks in the workplace Code of Practice).
About You:
* You will have preferably a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
* Possess a SA “A” Class Electrical License.
* Have a High Voltage Operators Accreditation.
* Preferably have completed a Cert IV in Instrumentation.
* Preferably have open reg cablers licence with structured cablers and fibre optic endorsement.
* HV earthing system experience.
* Be able to demonstrate strong proven qualities of leadership, integrity, loyalty and performance management.
* Have proven financial, risk, commercial, contractual and people management skills.
* Have the ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawing and fault-finding control circuits.
* Preferably have experience with PLC and HMI controls, preferably Allen Bradley.
* Have experience with communication networks and be able to mentor and lead a team of electricians.
