As General Manager Maintenance Execution, you will be responsible for leading critical areas, ensuring the safe, sustainable, efficient, and reliable execution of asset maintenance. You will lead with strategic vision, collaborating closely with your team and peers to not only meet but exceed customer expectations. You will drive continuous improvement and transformative change initiatives, positioning our operations at the forefront of industry excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership and Team Empowerment: Provide strong leadership, clear direction, and a compelling strategic vision across all Underground Workshops, Field Services, and Supply Chain functions. Cultivate synergy and collaboration, offering insightful advice and unwavering support. Champion teamwork, adeptly guide the team through change, and ensure alignment with organisational goals. Foster an empowering environment where team members feel valued, motivated, and inspired to achieve workshop goals and deliverables.
2. Operational Optimisation: Optimize Workshop Operations through the design and implementation of strategies to enhance work quality, minimise asset downtime, and streamline processes for continuous daily improvements. With a 'lean' approach, you will empower the workforce, prioritise tasks, ensure timely part supplies, drive efficiency, manage workforce planning, and control costs to achieve exceptional workshop performance.
3. Relationship Management and Safety Leadership: Build and maintain critical relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies while promoting and embedding a positive safety culture through demonstrated leadership practices, accountability, and a commitment to Zero Harm.
Qualifications and Experience
4. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant or associated field (Engineering preferred).
5. Lean / Six Sigma qualification highly regarded.
6. 10+ years of experience in operational execution leadership roles, with experience leading teams.
7. Experience in managing heavy diesel equipment or manufacturing workshops.
8. Deep understanding of maintenance management and work management processes.
9. Proven track record in driving performance improvements.
10. Well-developed business acumen and critical thinking skills.
11. Ability to understand the financial impacts of operational decisions.
12. Strong influencing, motivational, coaching, and mentoring skills.
13. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads, multiple projects, and conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.
14. High level of initiative and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated track record of sustaining improvements.
15. Proven ability to build networks and manage relationships.
