About the Unit The Medical Oncology Unit provides a coordinated multidisciplinary comprehensive cancer service and major full-service care capability for adult patients with malignancy, in conjunction with The Alfred's Radiation Oncology and Palliative Care Services, as well as a wide variety of other sub-specialities.
About the Role This role requires a Medical Oncologist to assume responsibility for clinical care of allocated patients and participate in setting the standards of high-quality clinical practice within the Medical Oncology Unit.
Preferred candidates will have a background in clinical trials and a demonstrable commitment to academic career development by undertaking a PhD at Monash University in a Medical Oncology-related field.
Qualifications and Experience Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:
Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice.Fellow of the relevant college.Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Medical Oncology.Meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Medical Oncology.Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills.Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels.Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/other teams.Enrolment (or clear and supervisor-approved plan for such) in a higher degree at Monash University.Enquiries: Dr Mark Shackleton via email:
