Senior Advisor, Risk Your new company This State Government department is the NSW Governments principal whole-of-government financial and economic adviser. They provide advice to inform budget decision-making, manage the States principal financial assets and liabilities, identify opportunities for economic reform, and support the development of policy advice and implementation of programs focused on energy, climate-change mitigation and adaptation, and the transformation to a new low-cost, clean-energy economy. The Risk, Compliance, and Audit team is a small team who provide leadership on strategic and operational risk management and compliance management, working to continuously enhance the maturity of an organisational wide risk and compliance culture so that the agency can deliver its sector-wide commitments in a risk-managed manner and ensure key obligations are met. Your new role As a Senior Advisor Risk, you will work with stakeholders across the department as the primary point of contact for key risk projects. You will provide analysis and reports on the key projects in line with Treasurys risk management and compliance frameworks.The role entails extensive stakeholder management with a diverse range of leaders across Treasury, preparing dashboards and other presentations for senior management, and application of technical expertise. Youll play a pivotal role in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of strategic, operational and project risk as well as contributing to the development, promotion, delivery, evaluation and reporting on compliance programs. Ensure staff have the appropriate tools, templates, techniques, and business partner support to implement effective risk management. Provide analysis, monitor, and report on risk and compliance projects to ensure these projects meet objectives. Prepare and present reporting, including dashboards to stakeholders including senior leaders across business, with the risks identified in a succinct and coherent manner. Assess compliance with NSW Treasury policies and procedures and ensure strong and transparent management accountability. Maintain and further develop the risk, compliance, and assurance software system (Protecht) including register design and reporting. What you'll need to succeed Extensive experience in project management, risk management, and compliance. Ability to provide high-quality, timely, and useful advice to support decisions and drive the implementation of key programs and projects. Problem-solving skills to view issues from various perspectives, solve difficult problems, and communicate complex concepts to a range of audiences. Collaborative mindset to partner with colleagues and other internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, challenging, and highly collaborative role. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to respond constructively to conflict and disagreement. What you'll get in return $530-720 Super per day depending on experience.
