About the job and the team
You’ll be part of the Coastal Information Team. We love what we do, get along well and work collaboratively to deliver a range of services which cover geospatial information systems, data collection, processing and management, oceanography, hydrographic surveying, and cartographic design.
We need people with spatial science and technology expertise.

1. help us redeploy GIS web services to Azure portal – a targeted body of work where you would need the relevant skills to get started on day 1
2. provide your IT and geospatial expertise in data governance, GIS and enterprise architecture to help deliver Coastal Information products and services. Build map applications and do data modelling.
3. get involved with bathymetric data management, metadata and hydrographic data processing
4. use your geospatial and design skills to assist the cartographic team with chart production and workflows
5. apply your programming skills and scientific knowledge in oceanography to collect, analyse and deliver tide and wave information products
We currently have two (2) x L5 positions available for fixed term appointments.

You will be a team player with passion for providing innovative spatial products and services. Someone who:
6. Has skills managing, developing, and supplying geospatial products, systems, and services
7. Has experience in data management and delivery, data processing, and ability to do spatial data analysis
8. Can proactively research, investigate and resolve problems or implement solutions
9. Can look outside the box and think into the future for the needs of the spatial community as we advance into the oceans in a way that has not been done before

This Talent Register has been established to build a bank of skilled geospatial professionals interested in joining our teams across the Maritime Division. This register will be used to access suitable applicants for Level 3, 4 and 5 Geospatial Officer roles on a temporary basis only, for up to 12 months fixed term contract .
You only need to register your interest once, all applications will remain active in the register for a period of 12 months and you may be contacted if your skills, knowledge, and experience outlined in your Resume closely align to those needed by Maritime and as opportunities become available.
