The Position
This is a key role for an experienced Field Officer to conduct research monitoring and field activities for the Fenner School of Environment and Society. The successful candidate will maintain research databases and provide quantitative analysis for the work area.
The Person
We’re seeking a passionate Biodiversity Field Officer to join our new project supporting the re-emergence of cultural burning in south-eastern Australia. This is an opportunity to work alongside First Nations communities, government, land managers and research ecologists, and monitor the ecological outcomes of a cultural burning program through extensive data collection. The Biodiversity Field Officer will conduct empirical field studies and experiments, collect high quality biophysical data (predominantly vegetation surveys and soil and biomass collection) in Box-gum grassy woodland ecological communities in the Riverina, Central tablelands and South East regions of NSW. Field experience is necessary, and the position will be predominately based in the field, with some periods of data curation. We strongly encourage First Nations peoples to apply for the position.
