BP is transforming its former oil refinery in Kwinana to an integrated energy hub, where it plans to produce Biofuels and Renewable Hydrogen. Worley is proud to be providing Engineering services to the BP Kwinana Renewable Fuels project and to contribute to a more sustainable world for a new era of Renewable Fuels. The Kwinana Renewable Fuels project is one of BP’s five biofuel projects across the globe as BP aim’s to produce around 100,000 barrels of biofuels per day by 2030. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating), you will be responsible for providing discipline specific engineering services to Worley and its clients encompassing technical support within the Mechanical discipline for the hydrocarbons, energy and chemicals industries to enable construction of various types of production plants and facilities.

What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) to join our Perth team
The role responsibilities include:
* Deliver discipline specific engineering services that meet Worley, its client’s and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
* Perform discipline specific engineering services such as:
o Prepare and review the production of mechanical package deliverables including datasheets, specifications, scope of supply, document / data requirement lists, technical bid evaluations, drawings, specifications, calculations and reports.
o Review, consolidate and co-ordinate interdisciplinary review of vendor data and drawings.
o Manage and expedite vendors to deliver packages in accordance with scope of supply and the project schedule.
o Liaise with vendors during completion of technical bid evaluation and clarification phase and then throughout package execution and delivery.
o Ensure the project scope is clear and identify changes to scope as required in line with project change management processes.
o Participate in relevant meetings, follow required checking procedures.
* Technically evaluate vendor equipment supply proposals.
* Work to the project schedule and manage allocated budgets flagging issues proactively. Estimate future work based on experience and norms.
* Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients.
* Experience in rotating equipment package management, document review and consolidation. Relevant equipment includes single and multi-stage centrifugal pumps, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors.
* Experience working with API standards for rotating equipment listed above.
* Experience in rotating equipment overhauls, maintenance, upgrades, and damage mechanisms.
* Understanding of piping and pipe supports and the interfaces with mechanical equipment.
* An excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the discipline, including:
o Brownfields Engineering
o Greenfields Engineering.
o Equipment layout.
o Read and interpret drawings, including general mechanical, piping and P&ID drawings.
* An understanding of the basic requirements of other disciplines and interdisciplinary interactions during both design phases and package delivery.
* Knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
* Proven history of delivering multiple mechanical packages on major projects within the hydrocarbon or renewable energy industries.
* Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and discipline specific software including:
o Navisworks
o Bluebeam / Adobe Suite
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required.
* Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
What you’ll have
* A recognised engineering degree in the relevant discipline.
* Relevant years of experience, including previous experience on mid-size – major projects, through all phases, including execution.
* Package management experience.
* Technical and practical experience in the Mechanical / Piping disciplines.
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is preferred.
