About the role This position works as support to the Finance Manager (Europe) in Financial Accounting, Payroll, Taxes, and Planning as a function within the European Newbuild Sites at the shipyards. This position helps prepare accurate accounting and supports financial partnering with the Newbuilding & Innovation department and the local Senior Management. Performs other duties as required.
The above tasks are shared with the Finance Team in all European Site Offices, to be able to back each other up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting:
Processes invoices including G/L-coding Processes accounting review of expense reports Partners with A/P and vendors to create and update supplier accounts (address book) Prepares and assists in the execution of multinational payroll Prepares and assists in month-end close processes Prepares bookkeeping according to local GAAP Assists in controlling the G&A Assists in preparing Forecasts and Plans Helps to analyze variances European Taxes:
Assists in preparing VAT returns for filing Assists in preparing Tax Balance sheet reconciliations Payroll/HR:
Cooperates with European Payroll Coordinator and local payroll providers Analyzes payroll provider reports Executes payroll accounting Qualifications:
Knowledge of German or Italian GAAP Knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting, taxes, and financial matters Minimum 3 years work experience, preferably in an international environment Language Skills:
German and English fluently, other languages are considered an asset.
Reasoning Ability:
High analytical skills and high noticeability are required.
